The Dorchester County Career & Technology Center (DCCTC) opened its doors to students in Dorchester County in August 1970. At DCCTC students receive skills and knowledge to become successful. Students are provided with resources to help them with their future plans.

Vision Statement

Dorchester County Career and Technology Center will be the leader in career and technology education providing a highly skilled and employable workforce capable of continued technical education at the highest level.

Time spent in career and technology classes has proven valuable year after year as evidenced by the following data provided by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce:

In the next 5 years, our region will create nearly 26,000 new jobs. Currently, more than 6,500 people in Dorchester County work in the skilled trades/manufacturing and that number jumps to more than 43,000 when you include the entire Tri-County area.

The average wage in Dorchester County is $36,296, but the average wage for Dorchester County residents who work in the manufacturing sector is $65,208.

State and federal data indicates that within 18 months of graduation, 98% of DCCTC students are either working, attending college or serving in the military.
